 Eclispedmoon// GlassClan's Medicine cat
« Result #2 on Oct 26, 2007, 7:25pm »

Name: Eclispedmoon
Age: 15 Moons
Gender: She-cat

Personality:
Eclipsedmoon is very kind, but also very shy. She is very protective of her friends and Clan and is not afraid to speak her own mind. Though sometimes, she doesn't. She keeps to herself mostly, afriad that the other cats with taunt her about her loss of a limb, and the loss of a voice due to weak vocal cords.
You can mostly find this she-cat in the Medicine den our out forest collecting herbs. Eclipsedmoon is mostly out during the night, something she had always seem to done when she was traveling as a kit. If you ever atcually started talking to her, Eclispedmoon might become someone else. She might be the complete opposite of her normal personality, hyper and very friendly, though it will only last a few minutes.
Eclipsedmoon is very protective of the younger cats in the Clan, especially apprentices. She blames herself personally for her own apprentice's death and doesn't trust herself enough to ask for another, though she does need help sometimes.
Appearance:
Soft and Silky, The Pelt and Eyes
A soft and silky pelt covers this she-cat's slim body. Her legs are short, but that doesn't stop her from being one of the fastest in the Clan. The scents of the medicine herbs she uses on her Clanmates clings to her pelt, making her almost irristable to some of the toms in the Clan. Eclipsedmoon has strange, bronze colored eyes that seem erie at times.
Strong and Limber, the Muscles and Build
This she-cat has strong, limber limbs, that hold her small frame up easlily. Though she doesn't use them the same way as her Clan mates do, Eclipsedmoon has very lean muscles under her thick pelt.
Her build, on the other hand, is very frail and thin, making her look much smaller then she really is. Though she doesn't train and hunt with her Clan-mates, she still likes to walk through the forest with her closest friends. Those she doesn't let it bother her, this she-cat is missing a leg, her front right to be exact. She was attacked by a badger when out with her mentor and was left with a dead Medicine cat and only three legs. She dragged both herself and her dead mentor back to camp after that.

 Huntingstar
« Result #3 on Oct 25, 2007, 7:59pm »

Name: Huntingstar
Age: 37 Moons
Gender: Tom

Personality: Hunter is commonly tired due to what his hobbies are. He is kind, though, and helps innocent cats when they are in danger. He commonly arrives late to meetings due to this. He is strong willed, and can endure lots of pain. One of his major flaws is he has a temper, and when friends are in danger, it gets him angry.

Despite his temper, he is quite friendly when you first meet him. Though he hates being formal, and loves being called by a nickname rather than Huntingstar. Thusly, he always hangs out with the kits, who love to call him by his nickname.

Hunter likes to take in Loners who are hurt badly or sick, along with the rarely seen kittypet or banished Dustclan member, despite other's words of advice. He feeds them with his skills, and enjoys making small talk, mostly talking about history.
Appearance: Hunter is a pure white medium-hair cat, not fitting any description due to being somewhat a mutt. Parts of his coat are coated in crimson, mostly on the legs, and on the snout. He doesn't take time to clean up, so he's somewhat dirty.

He has quite a few scars covering up his body, all of which have bloodstains nearby. This gives him a depressing appearance, but truthfully he just never cleans himself. Some cats commonly ask about this, and some find it nasty, but Hunter just replies, saying he never needs to go out of his way to look neat.

Hunter has a scar going down from his forehead to his nose, which is why his face is a somewhat crimson color. This scar he got from a Loner one time, during a battle. He never talks about it, and commonly changes the subject about it.

His tail is frayed and messy, but is pretty long. It's the place where he has the most stained blood. He says he uses it during battle as a shield to protect from the stronger attacks. He says it works, due to the tail being quite hard and rough.

Rank: Leader of Glassclan
History: Huntingstar was born to an average family, and didn't have much troubles with them until the day they were killed by a group of dogs. He had to witness this as he remained in a tree. His parents were kind people, and Huntingstar cried for many hours, though he didn't understand how much this would affect him, due to only being the age when a kit would be expected to begin their apprenticeship.

Huntingstar lived his normal life in Glassclan, but he was unexpectedly incredible at hunting. He was soon to be known around camp as the best Hunter around, and some of the kits began nicknaming him "Hunt."

Hunter didn't much mind the attention, expecially when he received his warrior name. He was able to take on an apprentice. He got a young student, named Glasspaw.

Glasspaw was named after the clan he was born to. He had quite a strange personality, and commonly became a problem for more and more of the clan members. But Hunter really liked the young one.

The day the clan leader died caused many problems for the clan, as they spent two days in disarray, following the Deputy's orders. The bad thing was, the Deputy wasn't as good as he looked, and soon things fell apart.

Soon the clan decided, as a last resort, that they must propose a vote for who shall be named the next leader. Hunter, unexpectedly, was chosen to be the leader of the clan.

Alright, that's cool. Though please run a spellcheck, if you will, and capitalize all necessary spots.

But besides that, it's great. though you said he will always follow his leader when he is the leader.

 Poisonstar
« Result #6 on Oct 22, 2007, 5:30pm »

Name:Poisonstar
Age:27 moons
Gender:tom

Personality:Poisonstar is loyal to a fault and will lead his Clan to the end of his life. But be warned he also has a sharp tongue. You wouldn't want to meet Poisonstar if you were a rival cat he would shred you and ask questions later. If you are lucky enough to befriend this shady Tom you have a loyal companion that would always stick up for you. Poisonstar is strong in spirit and body and will always lead his Clan with dignity and pride. Though he might be a little rough on apprentices he is actually very fond of young cats. Poisonstar will deal punishments that fit the crime and he never goes back on his word. Poisonstar has never thought about leaving his birth clan and doesn't think much of soft kittypet's and unfaithful clan cats. Poisonstar's ice blue eyes watch everything going on because he is cautious. If you are the type of cat he likes he can play like a new born kit.
Appearance:
Poisonstar is large for a Tom he has Solid black fur with a large spot on his chest that closely resembles blood he also has claws that are long and curved that are said to look like TigerStar's. His teeth are to be feared for they are as sharp as jagged stones. Poisonstar can disappear like smoke but can get anythings attention if he wants to. Poisonstar's red spot is in the shape of a star and looks so much like blood he's had cats ask if he's been wounded. As large as Poisonstar is he can run like a wind clan cat if the need is urgent. His fur is slippery and he can slip through the terrain with no difficulty. He has muscles that ripple like summer grass and it just goes to show that his mentor could not have done a better job.

Rank:leader of DustClan
History: When Poisonstar was born the medicine cat had a dream of darkness and light. She foretold that this large kit could save or ruin his clan. As the kit grew up he wondered why the leader wanted him as his apprentice. Was it to keep an eye on him or just because he showed promise. Poisonstar grew into a brilliant warrior true friend and a very handsome tom, the new hope of DustClan. After he became a warrior Poisonstar thought that the job of leader would be the right thing for him. He had always stuck to the warrior code and his clan mates looked upon him for guidance in times of uncertainty, but if another cat was more suited for the role he would accept it and follow them as he would his any other leader before him. Knowing the tale of his birth and the omen he carries on his chest he tried his very best to prove his worth to DustClan. As an accomplished leader he just might have proved himself.

All information is taken from Wikipedia, as I myself have not finished the whole entire series yet, along with my laziness. This site is not based directly on the series, as it does not contain the same clans, except Starclan, which is expected.

If you see any error, know it is not my fault, for it is wikipedias. Blame them, not me (J/K)

Instead of yelling at me, please tell me kindly in a P.M.

Leader

At the top of the Clan is the leader, whose name always ends with "-star". This cat is almost always the former deputy, who took over after the previous leader died. In special cases, like those of Nightstar and Tigerstar, non-deputies of the Clan can inherit the position of leader.

Leaders must commune with StarClan personally to receive their leader name and the special gift to leaders from StarClan: nine lives. Every time a leader is killed, StarClan heals the wound that killed them and returns them to life. Sometimes, however, the wound is too grievous to heal, in the case of Tigerstar, who lost all of his nine lives at once, or in the case of what would have happened when Firestar was in the fox trap, had Brambleclaw tightened the loop. In special cases, as with Nightstar, cats who may not have been chosen by StarClan may not receive their nine lives. Instead, they remain with only one life.

Leaders decide the warrior cat names for an apprentice before their warrior ceremony and is the one who makes most announcements through Clan meetings from a designated spot; in ThunderClan it was the Highrock/Highledge. They also arrange hunting and border patrols with the deputy.

As long as an Clan's old leader is alive, a new one cannot receive StarClan's gift of nine lives. When ThunderClan and ShadowClan drove Brokentail out and Nightstar became ShadowClan's new leader, he did not receive his nine lives, as Brokentail was still living and StarClan still recognized him as ShadowClan's leader.

Deputy

Directly below the leader is the deputy, who organizes everyday activities in the Clan, such as patrols. The only requirement to become a deputy is to have mentored at least one apprentice. StarClan can also send visions that in some way suggest who the next deputy should be, even if that cat has never mentored an apprentice, as was the case of Brambleclaw. The leader decides who the deputy would be if the former deputy is killed or injured badly. However, they can retire, in the case of Tawnyspots, the ThunderClan deputy before Bluestar. Some deputies can be chosen when one is banned from the Clan, like Tigerstar.

A new deputy is chosen if the current one is captured, driven into exile, killed, retired, or another event that renders them unable to do their tasks. The decision must be made before the midnight of the night that the current deputy is unable to be deputy anymore. Sometimes the medicine cat of a Clan will receive a sign from StarClan saying who the new deputy should be, as in the case of Brambleclaw. The deputy is usually a senior warrior and therefore is an experienced cat. The deputy is next in line to become leader, should the current leader lose all nine of their lives.

Medicine Cat

One of the most respected cats in the Clan is the medicine cat, who not only heals the cats of the Clan, but interprets signs from StarClan to receive advice and prophecies. Medicine cats seem to have their own code, much like the warrior code. They walk closer with StarClan than even leaders, and very few cats will argue with a medicine cat. Medicine cats are forbidden to have kits or take mates. Neither gender of medicine cat is an exception to the rule. A warrior who later becomes a medicine cat is also forbidden from having any additional kits. Medicine cats are responsible for learning of the various herbs in their area, and where to find them, so as to treat any cats that may fall ill or be injured.

Every half-moon, medicine cats travel to share dreams with StarClan. They also have to go to the Moonstone or Moonpool area. If for some reason there is no Clan deputy to take over leadership after the current leader is not with the Clan (i.e. Brokentail's exile with Blackstar), the medicine cat asks StarClan who the new leader should be.

Elders

Elders are retired warriors, deputies, and medicine cats. They are very respected and are cared for by apprentices. The elders' only known duties are to perform the burial of a deceased Clanmate and defend the nursery in fierce battle when their camp is attacked. They often give advice to the Clan leader and share stories of passed events with the younger cats.

A warrior becomes an elder when they have reached an age where they cannot keep up with warrior duties, or for other reasons that force them to retire early. Examples of this are failing sight (as was Longtail's case), hearing loss or deafness (Snowkit was an example of this), and serious injury (such as Brightheart and Cinderpelt's former situations).

Warriors

Warriors are cats that do most of the work for the Clan, such as hunting, patrolling borders, training apprentices, and discussing most gathering matters. They are toms and she-cats who are not caring for kits. As an apprentice, their names ended with "-paw", but now the suffix changes to a different word such as body parts (tail, ear, claw, fur, pelt, foot, tooth, fang, eyes, nose, stripe, throat, whisker, wing, feather, belly, heart, spots, face, leg, dapple), surroundings (pool, stream, leaf, flower, brook, poppy, berry, bird, song), movement (flight, step, fall, watcher), or weather (storm, frost, wind, cloud).

Warriors are some of the most important cats in the Clan. They hunt daily, patrol borders, train apprentices, and fight for their Clan even at the cost of their own lives. Warriors always follow the warrior code. A warrior is only given one apprentice at a time, although they are permitted to help train other apprentices. For example, although Lionheart was already mentoring Graystripe (Into the Wild), he also shared Firestar's training with Tigerstar for a time, until Firestar was given a permanent mentor (Bluestar). Warriors may also have kits.

Being a warrior is usually the longest period of time in a Clan cat's life, unless they are the medicine cat, leader, or promoted to deputy. A she-cat can also choose to stay as a queen and look after kits in the nursery until they retire, like Goldenflower and Ferncloud.

Queen

Queens are she-cats expecting or nursing kits. They stay in the nursery until their kits are apprenticed, then return to being warriors. Queens are not entirely restricted to the nursery or the camp. They are allowed to go hunting and a queen may also take her kits out of camp for a short while. A queen has the right to keep the identity of her kits' father a secret, even from the leader or the kits themselves, as Bluestar did with her kits, Stonefur and Mistyfoot. Goldenflower also hid the identity of Brambleclaw and Tawnypelt's father for a while from them, even though the rest of the Clan knew. Silverstream had planned to hide the identity of Stormfur's and Feathertail's father, who was Graystripe, before she died bearing them. When Yellowfang gave birth to Brokenstar, her mate Raggedstar did the exact opposite. Since Yellowfang was the medicine cat, and not allowed to have kits, Raggedstar refused to tell any cat who Brokentail's mother was, and Brokentail only found out right before Yellowfang killed him.

Naturally, the queens' den is close to the medicine cat's den, so that the medicine cat can give them herbs if a queen goes into labor.

Apprentice

When a kit reaches six moons old, they are apprenticed. Their name, which formerly ended in "-kit", now ends with "-paw", to siginify the path their paws are now on. They are assigned a mentor, who can be a warrior, deputy, medicine cat (if the apprentice plans to become the next medicine cat), or even the leader (Bluestar was Firestar's mentor, for instance, however, the leader's apprentice doesn't necessarily become deputy or leader). Apprentices also care for the elders in their Clan. They are allowed to travel within Clan territory, either alone or with their mentor, and are also allowed to go to Gatherings at full-moons, if they are permitted by their leader and mentor.

After several moons of training, and a journey to the Moonstone/Moonpool, an apprentice is given their warrior name and proclaimed a full warrior of their Clan. Traditionally, the new warrior's first task is to hold vigil and stand guard over the camp all night until dawn. The average apprenticeship, no matter which type, lasts from about four to eight moons.

When it comes to a medicine cat apprentice, they have much different training than warrior apprentices, as they must learn how to heal their Clanmates and interpret signs from StarClan. Also unlike a warrior apprentice, a medicine cat apprentice is given their full name at the Moonstone/Moonpool by their mentor, in the presence of the other Clans' medicine cats. Although a medicine cat apprentice can be given their full name, they will still be considered the apprentice of the current medicine cat until they succeed their mentor.

Kit

At the lowest level are kits. Their name always ends in "-kit". These are cats younger than six moons old. They are restricted due to their age and are not permitted to leave the camp without parental supervision. It is against the warrior code for kits to hunt. They have no duties in the Clan, and spend most of their time playing with each other in mock fights or they play alone with moss balls, leaves, or puddles. After their sixth moon, a kit is made an apprentice, and given to a warrior to mentor them.

After Raggedstar's death (during Brokentail's leadership from before and during most of Into the Wild), Brokenstar had ShadowClan's kits begin their training at three moons of age, and he named them full warriors at five moons.

 Warrior Code
« Result #9 on Oct 22, 2007, 4:13pm »

* Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
* One should never hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.

Punishment: Most cats are attacked if found.

* Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.

Punishment: The offender is usually given no food for the rest of the day.

* Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
* A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
* Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
* A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
* The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
* After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
* A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among the Clans at this time.
* Boundaries must be checked and marked. Challenge all trespassing cats.
* No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.
* The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
* An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
* A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

Other things regarding the warrior code, as implied by the Clan cats, are:

* The Clan is to be fed before any individual cat.

Punishment: Usually, the offending warrior gets no prey for a day.

* The safety of the Clan is more important than that of any individual cat.
* Each Clan has specific borders.

Punishment: Usually, a conflict or battle will take place regarding the boundary.

* Prey is not to be stolen from another Clan's territory.
* Clan borders are not to be crossed (unless of special occasions going to the Moonstone/Moonpool, or, at the lake, crossing one another's territory to get to Gatherings)

Punishment: The crosser can be attacked by a border patrol.

* A Gathering lasts as long as the moon is highest in the sky.
* There is a truce during the Gathering.
* Under no circumstances may the truce be broken.

Punishment: Clouds will cover the moon, showing StarClan's anger.

* Medicine cats may not fall in love nor have kits.

Punishment: The cat, if female, will be forced to give up her kits.

* Cats may not fall in love with nor have kits with cats from other Clans.
* Kits must be at least six moons old to be an apprentice.
* Kits may not leave the camp without permission.

Punishment: Depends on the kit's mother or father; the offending kit usually must stay in the nursery. However, depending on the severity, kits' apprenticeship may be delayed.

* Kits may not learn to hunt until they are apprenticed.

Punishment: Usually, the kit will have to stay in the nursery.

* Apprentices must accompany the leader to Highstones/the Moonpool as a part of their training.
* Newly made warriors must sit vigil for their first night and guard the camp in silence.
* Warriors may not kill in cold blood.

Punishment: The cat may be exiled.

* Warriors must show compassion.
* A deputy must be chosen before moonhigh of the previous deputy's resignation or death.
* To be a deputy a cat must have had an apprentice.
* Warriors may not attack a medicine cat.
* Cats have free passage to the Highstone/Moonpool.
* There may be no more nor less than four Clans in the forest.
* Strangers should be driven from a Clan's territory.
* Cats should show mercy to cats who ask for help.
* Warriors do not fight to kill; they fight to prove their strength and defend their territory.
* Cats must stay within two tail-lengths from the lake on the way to Gatherings/Moonpool (Starlight onwards).

 The Clans
« Result #10 on Oct 22, 2007, 4:11pm »

Glassclan

Glassclan is the larger of the two clans in the forest. They contain a collection of cats, all having complete trust of Starclan. They have a very small history, and thusly there isn't much more to say. They are led by Glassstar, who is pretty popular among them.

StarClan

StarClan is a massive Clan made up of the spirits of departed Clan cats, and they are the ancestors of ThunderClan, ShadowClan, WindClan, and RiverClan. They are also the ancestors of SkyClan, although SkyClan's spirits are no longer in the forest.

StarClan are represented by Silverpelt (we call it the Milky Way), and made up of the spirits of departed cats. Each star in Silverpelt is said to represent one dead warrior, and all the warriors together make up StarClan. When a cat dies, they are visited by a StarClan feline, usually one they were close to, and that StarClan cat takes them to join the other departed warriors. Although StarClan is made up of cats from each Clan, the individual spirits still hold loyalty to their earthly Clans.

StarClan cats communicate with the living Clans through dreams and visions, most frequently when the living cats visit the Moonstone or Moonpool. Although StarClan is looked to for guidance and aid, StarClan does not control what happens to the Clans. Instead, the most they can do is offer help in the form of prophecies that they foretell, advice, visions, and dreams, along with giving a leader nine lives and their leader name. Even with healing, there is only so much that StarClan can do. In the case of Tigerstar, the wound given to him by Scourge was too terrible for StarClan to heal, and Tigerstar lost all nine of his lives at once.
